Building Toward a Stronger TMA Tomorrow

From Crisis to Clarity

Well into autumn, we come closer and closer to the grandness of conference season and the beginning of many positive steps forward with what lies on the horizon for 2023 and beyond for TMA Nation.

Led by TMA Global President Jane Mitnick, our Governance Task Force has spent a good part of 2022 doing the hard and introspective work that will result in improvements to our bylaws, work that will continue well into 2023.

Corporate Secretary Jonathan Reimche is hard at work leading our strategic planning effort, which started late last year and will result in the first strategic update for the organization since 2016. Jonathan’s preview of the committee’s work at The TMA Annual will highlight a vision for how we can build on a strong TMA and what our next several years will look like.

As part of that future, TMA HQ has recently made several key hires to beef up our team to ensure our members and leaders worldwide are better supported than ever before. As of today, we have filled a senior meeting planner role as well as roles in committee and awards support, two additions to our marketing and communications group, a manager in our finance group, a sponsorship coordinator, and a certification coordinator.

These additions to Team TMA will ensure maximum support for an even better member experience. Each individual we have added to the team is energized not by a job but to be part of the TMA experience and of a community of the most engaged volunteers in a world they are now all part of.

TMA has also embarked on two new capital projects that will vastly improve the member experience. In January 2023, we will be launching a state-of-the-art association management system (AMS). The new system includes features that will greatly enhance how chapters interface with TMA Global and will allow Global to support our members more seamlessly. With features like improved member profiles, community boards, and certification and education modules, all that we do for our members will be vastly improved as we move into the next generation of TMA.

In addition, TMA has taken preliminary steps in what will be a mid-2023 launch of a new website design. Our focus here is the creation of the most defining, futuristic, and member-friendly experience we have ever had.

In other news, many of you may have seen our International Monthly Report, which replaces the North America Weekly Report for our international members. It includes news and happenings relevant to the international community, as we continue to build goodwill and enhance global connectivity for all of our members.

Behind the curtain of TMA Global, we look to build a stronger future. With a solid foundation to work with, all I have shared will contribute to the story of TMA Tomorrow and the opportunities we will continue to build for you, our members.

As always, I am grateful for the support and engagement of our leaders and members who have made this year defining and outstanding in so many ways. I look forward to a grand gathering with you all in Boston at The TMA Annual, where we will celebrate the one connection that starts with you, elevating what it means to be better together and TMA proud.
