Derek Hunter, a restructuring associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis and focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. In addition to representing Things Remembered Inc. and its affiliates in their Chapter 11 case, Hunter represented Blackhawk Mining LLC and its affiliates in their prepackaged Chapter 11 case and Hollander Sleep Products and certain of its affiliates in connection with their prearranged Chapter 11.
Spencer Winters is a restructuring partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis and focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and insolvency proceedings. In addition to representing Things Remembered Inc. and its affiliates in their Chapter 11 case, Winters represented Sheridan Holding Company II LLC, an oil and natural gas investment fund, and certain of its affiliates in a prepacked Chapter 11 restructuring and American Tire Distributors Inc. in its prearranged Chapter 11.

He also advises boards of directors and senior management of financially troubled companies regarding fiduciary duties and corporate governance. His significant debtor representations have included Answers Holdings, Caesars Entertainment Operating Company, and Cengage Learning.
