Greg Charleston has joined KPMG’s Deal Advisory Restructuring team. He brings more than 30 years of experience in turnaround and M&A, specifically working with financially troubled or underperforming companies to address liquidity issues, develop cost containment programs, implement process improvements, and improve profitability.

Sydney J. Darling has joined Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C.’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group. She focuses her practice on commercial bankruptcy matters and has represented secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 trustees, liquidating trustees, creditors’ committees, asset purchasers, property owners/landlords, and other interested parties in bankruptcy cases. Darling holds a law degree from Rutgers University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Marist College.

Michael Edelschick has rejoined the Business Restructuring & Turnaround Services practice of BDO Consulting Group LLC as a managing director and national leader of the Bankruptcy Litigation Services group. He was previously with BDO for seven years until he was hired in 2019 to lead the post-bankruptcy executive team of a specialty supermarket chain. After the supermarket’s successful turnaround, Edelschick has returned to BDO’s New York City office. He has nearly 25 years of experience in bankruptcy litigation, restructuring, and investment banking advisory services, both within and outside the bankruptcy process; corporate finance; and strategic management, and significant experience serving clients across numerous industries.

Hilco Global has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire New York-based Getzler Henrich & Associates LLC, a 53-year-old nationally recognized turnaround and restructuring advisory firm that focuses on providing operational and financial solutions to middle-market businesses and their stakeholders. Getzler Henrich’s corporate turnaround and restructuring expertise and financial advisory and performance improvement capabilities will integrate well with Hilco Global’s existing valuation, consulting, and corporate finance advisory services, and provide access to new sources of capital, according to Hilco Global CEO Jeffrey B. Hecktman. The entire Getzler Henrich management team will remain in place, with Joel Getzler and Bill Henrich continuing as partners and co-chairs of the firm. Hilco Global is a privately held diversified financial services company and an authority on maximizing the value of assets for both healthy and distressed companies.

Greg Pesce has joined White & Case LLP as a partner in the firm’s Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice and is based in the Chicago office. He focuses his practice on protecting and advancing the financial interests of corporate debtors and secured and unsecured creditors in the various transactional and litigation-related aspects of the debtor-creditor relationship. He also regularly counsels private equity and investment fund clients, both in and out of court, with respect to acquisitions of distressed assets and investments and corporate governance matters related to portfolio companies. Pesce also has significant experience advising companies, creditors, equity holders, and other stakeholders in cross-border restructuring transactions, including situations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Peru, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. He previously was a partner with Kirkland & Ellis.
