I have often talked about how TMA has pivoted with purpose and, even before the pandemic, was creating a new pathway to TMA Tomorrow. The current state of affairs, however, has accelerated that charge, and at the forefront of it all is technology.
The advent of a global pandemic has shown that people can create new ways to manage what was previously “normal.” How we communicate, navigate, and manage our daily lives has changed. And at the root of it all lies technology.
Out with the old and in with the new has never been more evident. Increased use of online platforms to communicate, manage special situations, conduct court hearings, and mediate disputes has shown how we have gravitated not just to a new normal but to a better tomorrow. To no surprise, that better tomorrow starts with the power of the people of TMA.
In this marquee JCR issue in which we talk about technology, the discussion of various topics presented could not be timelier. They display innovation that challenges the conventional. And our thought leaders show how we have grasped what tomorrow looks like by being at the forefront of a newness today.
Like all we do at TMA, we seized on the moment, gravitated to a situation, and created powerful opportunities, using technology to do so. This year we used technology to present webinars that have brought our members critical information and learnings from professionals all over the globe. We used technology to launch an interactive TMA Restructuring Boot Camp that accelerated the number of offerings of the program. And we have used technology to network in new and creative ways, bringing together members who otherwise might not have ever had the opportunity to meet.
In late September when TMA holds its Impact 2020: The Annual Experience, technology will be at the forefront, creating a conference experience like none we have ever had. With technology as our anchor, we will create an experience that will be hands-on, interactive, connected, and seamless, all while showing the people, power, and innovation of TMA.
Technology could not be more relevant today. But technology is only as good as the people who gravitate to it, innovate through it, and seize on its potential. There is no better group of professionals to do that than the members of TMA.
We are leaders in so many ways. We lead by example as professionals, volunteers, and in how we connect and showcase our fraternalism worldwide. Today, however, we will set in stone the example of TMA Tomorrow using TMA innovation and technology to get us there.
Technology has not defined us. It has allowed us to be better together because the people of TMA Nation value innovation, creativity, and opportunity, and have again seized the moment to define how we work, think, connect, and support each other, just as we always have and always will.
