Volunteers Keep TMA Operating at Peak Performance

TMA is a machine in motion. It lives to be exercised. Its momentum keeps it strong. And it is fueled by a volunteer network, which through our committees keeps TMA at the peak performance that make us the defining organization in the corporate restructuring and renewal space.

In our year of being #bettertogether and #opportunity2impact, we are ensuring that our network of committees is engaged, committed, and strong. We want to ensure that TMA advances as our volunteers continue the great work of what has transpired before, as together we build on the strong foundations established in 2019.

It starts with better connections and communications across committees. This year our vice president of chapter relations is acting as our liaison to our Chapter President’s Council, Membership Council, and Chapter Resource and Response Council (CRRC). Together, these three committees will ensure that our chapters are supported, our value proposition is clearly shared, and programming is created that focuses on bringing new members into our diverse organization.

Our Marketing and Communications Council will take the value proposition created last year and elevate how it is imparted systemwide. From there, we will engage our chapter executives to assure that they, too, are connected with our messaging and are better supporting communications on behalf of their constituencies.

Social media will play a greater role than ever before for TMA in 2020. Following a creative and exciting presentation about social media channels at our in-person board meeting in Las Vegas at the 2020 Distressed Investing Conference, we are poised to launch a new direction on communications via social media channels.

It will start with three webinars, to which leaders, members, and chapter executives will be invited. We will create a universe of opportunity by showing how we as an organization can better connect with each other, for each other, and through each other because of our use of social media.

The pistons of the well-oiled TMA machine will also involve an Education Oversight Committee that will focus on expanding our TMA Learning Link, not just with content from Global and regional conferences but from chapter programming too. This will give exclusive member-only access to a wider range of programming than ever before.

This will also be the year of international growth. With a new International Committee, our global chair and international vice president will expand on the work of last year’s International Strategy Working Group to ensure continued support of a more connected TMA experience for our international chapters. This will culminate with the inaugural TMA Global International Symposium, set to premier in London in November.

Plans are already well in process for The 2020 TMA Annual in Boston, and we will duplicate the formula created in Cleveland last year to again ensure a memorable, important, connected, and informative conference experience for our members.

The year of #opportunity2impact is off to a solid start, and the muscle and might of TMA is growing stronger every day. This machine works well because our ever-growing pool of volunteers, through their dedication and commitment, ensures that we are, and will remain, the room where it happens. TMA is and will continue to be essential, and our leaders and growing membership continue to prove that to be so every day.
