Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 - Joseph F. Hutchinson, Jr., Partner, Baker & Hostetler LLP

Joe Hutchinson focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including fraud recovery, bankruptcy litigation and federal regulatory disputes. In addition to his litigation experience, Joe has represented debtors, Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees, and creditors' committees in many bankruptcy cases in which substantial distributions were made to creditors. 

A former national leader of the firm's Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Creditors' Rights team, Joe has been listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America©, and has been named an Ohio "Super Lawyer" and The Best Lawyers in America© "Lawyer of the Year" for 2017.

Turnaround/Transaction of the Year – 2016

The Ohio Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association has awarded the Quaker Steak & Lube Team its annual Turnaround/Transaction of the Year for 2016. The Quaker Steak & Lube Team was credited with saving an iconic 40-year-old brand and 1,000 jobs through the sale of the company's operations to TravelCenters of America (TA), which was accomplished through a Section 363 sale in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. It took the transaction team only 42 days from the initial negotiation meeting with TA to finalize an asset purchase agreement and prepare for the required bankruptcy filing.

John K. Lane, Inglewood's CEO/Managing Director, served as Interim CFO for Quaker Steak & Lube and his Inglewood partner, Stuart Saddler, served as Interim Controller. Scott N. Opincar and Michael J. Kaczka, Members at McDonald Hopkins LLC, served as Debtors’ counsel.  John A. Polinko and Christopher W. Peer, Shareholders at Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista Co., represented the interests of the unsecured creditors.  Mark Kozel, Director Management Consulting at BDO, served as the financial advisor for the unsecured creditors.

On November 1, 2016, TA announced in a press release, "Plans for this popular restaurant chain include aggressive growth nationwide."
