On Thursday October 6th, TMA NOW and the Chicago Chapter of IWIRC (International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation) co-hosted a lovely evening of culture and networking at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago. 35 members and guests enjoyed a docent led tour of several works by the masters of the Impressionist period including Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and Edouard Manet. While our docent volunteers his time leading these tours for the museum, he is a very knowledgeable Art History professor and his enthusiasm for these artists and their paintings was infectious. One of the paintings he focused on was the subject of one of his semester long classes.
The networking portion of the evening was held in the Terzo Piano restaurant located on the 4th floor of the Modern Wing. It provided a perfect setting to mix and mingle with other women turnaround professionals and to enjoy a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. The event planning committee included Mary Alberts of MB Financial, Barb Yong of Golan Christie Taglia LLP, Lauren Hargrove, Judicial Clerk to Bankruptcy Judge Timothy Barnes, Anne Vanderkamp of Baker Tilly, Elizabeth Vandesteeg of Sugar Felsenthal Grais and Hammer, and Andrea Gonzalez of Alvarez and Marsal. Special thanks to Sue Fischer and Chris Glatz for assisting with the publicity, registration and menu selection.
