Some of the issues to be discussed at this seminar include:
• a review of the Singapore Companies Act procedures for stay of judicial proceedings (Art 210(10)) and Scheme of Arrangements and their role in multi-jurisdictional restructurings in South East Asia;
• how Singapore procedures can be applied in support of local insolvency proceedings and implement local proceedings;
• recognition of Singapore proceedings abroad under the UNCITRAL cross-border insolvency rules (e.g. Chapter 15 in the US);
• basis for Singapore jurisdiction in a multi-jurisdictional insolvency; and
• case studies on Singapore as a cross-border insolvency jurisdiction.
