COC Updates CTP/CTA Continuing Education

At its June meeting, the Certification Oversight Committee updated the continuing professional education language applicable to Certified Turnaround Professionals (CTPs) and Certified Turnaround Analysts (CTAs). All CTPs and CTAs must complete continuing professional education to maintain their designation in good standing.

To alleviate confusion with the continuing education requirements for other professionals in the TMA membership, credit for CTPs and CTAs will now be referred to as Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The credit requirements for CTPs and CTAs remain unchanged--CTPs must earn 30 units, including two ethics units, in every two-year reporting period. For CTAs, the requirement is 20 units, including two units of ethics, in every two-year reporting period. In accordance with the TMA Certification Program Continuing Education Guidelines, CEUs are calculated on the basis of a 50-minute hour for group programs.

CTPs or CTAs who need more information on this change, or to verify reporting cycle dates, should review the updated documents on the Certification Maintenance page or contact the Certification department.
