The TMA Toronto Spring Gala held on May 26, 2016 was an outstanding success. It was an evening honouring women in restructuring and benefitting a well deserving charity, Girls E-Mentorship Innovation.
The Award Winners: Congratulations to the recipients of the TMA Toronto Women of Excellence Award, Jane Dietrich of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Michelle Pickett of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Thank You for Donating: A sincere thank you to all of the attendees and their firms for their generous donations to the charity and for the purchase of the wide variety of Silent Auction items. The event raised a record amount of over $80,000 for Girls E-Mentorship Innovation (www.girlsementorship.com).
How to Get Involved in Girls E-Mentorship: Girls E-Mentorship Innovation is looking for additional volunteers to expand its programs. The highly qualified and talented TMA Toronto members with their varied backgrounds and perspectives would be a great resource for GEM and the girls in its programs. There are several ways to contribute, including being a mentor to a young woman for a nine-month program, hosting a session with a group of girls interested in your career, or volunteering on one of the GEM committees. For more information on participating in this organization please contact: Cass Hammett (cass@girlsementorship.com) or Rochelle de Goias (rochelle@girlsementorship.com).
Thank you to our MC, Justice Frank Newbould and to our committee members:
