The Honorable Judge James J. Tancredi, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Connecticut recently hosted Legacy Scholars for a 'day in court' as a part of the Legacy Law and Government Conversation Series. The students were the guests of Judge Tancredi and his law clerks and witnessed a mock trial educating them about the Bill of Rights and the protections afforded individuals by the Bankruptcy Court. In addition to the mock trial, Scholars witnessed an actual bankruptcy hearing and spent time with Judge Tancredi and his law clerks in his chambers further discussing financial literacy among other topics. The visit with Judge Tancredi was arranged with the help of the Connecticut Turnaround Management Association and Phil Kane, current chairman of the Turnaround Management Association and Vice Chairman of the Legacy Foundation.
